About us

Phase One of the present school was opened in 1981 by the Chief Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr.) Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, and phase Two in 1984. The school is situated at Jalan Ong Tiang Swee, Kuching, and has ten classrooms, a large well-equipped P.E hall, a kitchen for the cookery class, a book library, a toy library and office.

The school has 4 vans which bring some of the children to school, and take them on school outings, shopping, trips, and educational trips. Each class in our school has one teacher and one helper with a maximum of 17 children. Our Cerebral Palsy classes have 1 teacher and 2 helpers. All types of mentally handicapped children from four to seventeen years of age attend the regular school session in the morning class.

Children attending the school come from various intellectually disabled groups: Downs Syndrome, autistic and various type of brain damage; additional probles such as physical handicap, hearing/speech impairment and behaviour problems are also present.The school welcomes visitors and also volunteers who offer help.
